About TTUM

When Pastor Ashoke Bachew was 12 years old back in the 1960’s, a group of short-term missionaries from the United States came to his Hindu village in Trinidad and shared the truth of Jesus Christ with him. He turned away from idol worship and gave his heart to Jesus. Since that time he has been passionate about living for Jesus and sharing Him. Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries (TTUM) was born from that passion and his vision of seeing a church in every village in Trinidad and Tobago.

Statement of Faith

The following is the Statement of Faith of Trinidad & Tobago Urban Ministries.

  • We believe – the Holy Scriptures as originally given to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe – that there is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe – in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His mediatory work, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe – in the universal sinfulness and guilt of all mankind since the Fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • We believe – that for the salvation of lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • We believe – in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • We believe – in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of judgment.
  • We believe – in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, who comprise the Church which is His body.
